My name is Yunjung Kim, and I am a sophomore at the University of Washington. Before coming to the UW, I went to a high school in Spokane, Washington, and previously have lived in Athens, Georgia and Seoul, South Korea. I am currently a bioengineering student. However, I hope to double major in bioengineering with either neurobiology or computer science.
Though I enjoy studying, I consider music to be an important part of my life. My mother started me on piano when I was little, but when I moved to America, I switched to stringed instruments. When I first started to play violin in fourth or fifth grade, I never expected myself to continue this long or for it to shape much of who I am. Playing in various ensembles and solo music with my violin has been my life for the past few years. I enjoy playing solo music, in quartets, in chamber groups, and in symphonies. I am currently continuing to play by participating in the Chamber Music Club, University Symphony Orchestra, and lessons. Below is a piece from my high school senior recital.
